Sierra Leone was devastated this century by the Blood Diamond war, which prompted my church, Floris United Methodist, to establish the Child Rescue Center there. In response to the need for medical care, we built a hospital. Missioners from 14 partner churches have gone to work with the children at the CRC and the medical staff at Mercy Hospital. This quilt celebrates the 25th birthday of the CRC, which has transitioned from an orphanage to a center to reunite families, the Child Reintegration Center.
